Public's Help Sought In Identifying OC Attempted Sexual Assault Suspect

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Wednesday to identify a man wanted for an attempted sexual assault.

The suspect tried to assault a woman in the area of Beach Boulevard and Edinger Avenue in Huntington Beach around midnight on Sept. 10, police said.

"The female was able to fight off the suspect, but he fled with her purse," officials said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with a light or tan complexion, black hair and a mustache. He is approximately 26 to 32 years old and is 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slender build.

The suspect was last seen wearing blue jeans, a baggy white t-shirt and a white baseball hat.
