Teen Confronts Intruder With Baseball Bat At Pacoima Home

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — A Pacoima family is seeking the public's help in the search for a home intruder, after their teenage daughter chased a man out of their residence with a baseball bat.

Security video footage shows a man parking right in front of the Ochoa family's house shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.

The man is seen walking casually into the front yard, making his way up the driveway to the side of the house and peeking into windows. He then looks directly into the security camera before before the family says he broke into their home through the back door.

That's when Lisa Ochoa says she sprang into action.

"I actually heard noises," she recalled.

The intruder allegedly looked into her brother's room and proceeded to Linda's. The two came face to face.

"After he saw me, he shut off the lights. I immediately went to my brother's baseball closet and grabbed a bat," she said.

The teenager screamed and chased the man as he ran to his car. By that time, the family was awake and called police.

Father Jose Ochoa is glad his kids are OK. But he's now concerned about what this break-in has done to his children's sense of security.

"He came in like he owned the place," he said.

Police ask that anyone who recognizes the man in the security video call the department's Foothill Division at (818) 756-8861.
