Public's Help Needed To Find Hollywood Burglar

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Detectives have released a composite sketch Monday of a man they say has committed several burglaries, including one that turned violent, in the Hollywood area.

Los Angeles police say the man is believed to have committed at least three burglaries this year.

The first burglary was reported about 7 p.m. Jan. 4. The man entered through a window and burglarized a home in the 1000 block of North Oxford Avenue. Police say he was still going through the residence when the victim came home and found him in one of the bedrooms. He left through the front door, police said.

Police say the burglar struck again Feb. 21 at a home in the 5200 block of Romaine Avenue. The man entered through a window, ransacked the home and left, police said.

On March 27, the man entered a home in the 1400 block of North Serrano Avenue through a front window. The victim returned home as the man was ransacking the residence. Police say there was a struggle, and the man took out a knife and threatened the victim before leaving the residence through the rear alley.

The man, who police say is armed and dangerous, is described as a Hispanic, 25 and 30 years old, with black hair, brown eyes, about 5-foot-6 and weighing 150 pounds.

Anyone with more information about the man or these crimes can contact Hollywood Area Robbery Detective Marin at (213) 972-2954.
