Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 11)

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) —The big story in the weather department: hot temperatures. High pressure will dominate the region through the weekend. Temperatures will be well above average.

There will be widespread temperatures in the 90s throughout the LA Basin and some temperatures over 104 or 105 degrees in the valleys. Some of the warmest weather will be on Sunday and Monday.

It will be very dry so the fire danger will be high through the weekend.

There are no formal watches and warnings from the National Weather Service; however, you have to have a significant humidity component to get a heat advisory from the NWS. The service did issue a special weather statement.

By next week, while the temperatures fall, the humidity will increase as we watch the progression of Odile. The remnants of this system could be in the area by Wednesday and Thursday.
