Girl, 17, On Life Support After Car-To-Car Shooting In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 17-year-old girl remained on life support Thursday after she and a 24-year-old man were wounded in South Los Angeles in police believe was a car-to-car shooting.

The shooting happened at 84th Street and Vermont Avenue at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, Los Angeles police Nuria Venegas said.

The girl was taken to her home by the male victim, who then went for help at the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Station, Lt. John Jenal said.

The female victim may be brain dead, police Sgt. Carlos Bedolla said. The male victim, who was shot in the stomach, was hospitalized in serious but stable condition and was released from the hospital early Thursday, he said.
