Former Mayweather Fiancee Sues Fighter For Invasion Of Privacy, Defamation, Assault

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) –  The former fiancee of Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced Thursday that she was suing the boxing champ for assault, battery, defamation and invasion of privacy.

Shantel Jackson said she was in a long-term relationship with Mayweather.

She held a news conference Thursday with her attorney, Gloria Allred.

Jackson also is alleging civil harassment and false imprisonment in her suit.

Mayweather's former fiancee said she met him while working as a club hostess in Atlanta eight years ago when she was 21.

She reportedly told Mayweather that she was pregnant with his twins. Jackson said he asked to see a sonogram as proof.

After telling the fighter she didn't want to move to Las Vegas, she maintains he became verbally abusive.

In early May, Mayweather went on Facebook and announced that he and Jackson broke up "because she got an abortion, and I'm totally against killing babies."

During the news conference, Jackson read from a prepared statement that said, in part: "I loved Floyd deeply, but he continued to disappoint and intentionally hurt me."

She added: "I have been embarrassed and humiliated more than I can ever imagine by Floyd, whom I once called my best friend and fiance. It was with a heavy heart that I finally realized the only way to set the record straight and achieve justice for what he has done to me is filing this lawsuit."

Jackson is seeking unspecified damages.

KCAL9 asked for a comment from Mayweather but has not heard back.
