The woman said the boy was riding his bike home from Northside Park after a family gathering when an older model van stopped in front of him in the 300 block of N. San Gabriel Avenue.

"One suspect exited the van and approached the child from behind, while the driver remained in the vehicle," Azusa police said. "The suspect grabbed the child, and pulled him towards the van."

The man told the boy to get inside, but "the child struggled with the suspect and was able to get away."

He was not injured.

The suspect then got back in the van and the men fled the scene.

The suspect who grabbed the child was described as a dark complexioned male between 20 and 40 years old.

"He was reported to have a shaved head with short side burns, a mustache, and goatee," officials said.

No description was released for the driver of the vehicle.
