Boy Rescued From Hot Car After Mother Locks Keys Inside

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A child trapped in a hot car in Riverside was rescued just in time Tuesday after his mother accidentally locked her keys inside.

KCAL9's Tom Wait reports the mother parked her car at a strip mall at Magnolia and La Sierra avenues and was on her way to a salon with her other children before realizing she had locked the keys in the vehicle and had forgotten her 1-year-old.

The mother could not figure out a way to open the vehicle and could not communicate with the child to open the door.

She called 911, and firefighters dispatched to the scene were able to safely remove the child from the car.

No injuries were reported.
