Family Of Fullerton Fight Victim Asks Assailants To Come Forward

ORANGE (CBSLA.com) — A 26-year-old man remains hospitalized Friday in a medically induced coma after a fight in downtown Fullerton almost a week ago.

KCAL9's Crystal Cruz spoke with the family of the victim, Irvin Ynfante, who prayed for him outside of UCI Medical Center.

"Irvin is like a brother to me," said Margot Gomez, cousin of Ynfante. "It was really awful and very terrifying for all our family members to see that."

According to the family, Ynfante has had several brain and throat surgeries after the attack.

Fullerton police officers released surveillance video of the attack Thursday to help identify the men who assaulted Ynfante and two other males over the weekend.

According to police, a fistfight broke out in front of Tuscany Club in the 100 block of North Harbor Boulevard around 2 a.m. Saturday after one of the men accused three  other men of looking at his girlfriend.

Ynfante was rushed to a hospital trauma center, where he has remained in a medically induced coma. The two other victims were treated for a dislocated shoulder and other minor injuries.

In addition to praying for Ynfante's recovery, his cousins told Cruz they want the attackers arrested.

"Please come out, turn yourself in," said Carmen Odom. "What you did, I'm sure, has to be on your conscience."

Police described the two suspects as Hispanic and white males in their mid-20s.

Anyone who might have videotaped the fight on a cellphone or have information regarding the crime is urged to contact detectives at (714) 738-5361.
