ROSSMOOR (CBSLA.com) — A woman in her 90s was shot to death at a home in Rossmoor, officials reported.

Deputies were called at around 4:20 p.m. to the 11200 block of Wallingsford Road, Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

The victim’s family told CBS2/KCAL9 reporter Crystal Cruz that the woman’s daughter killed her.

Neighbors said the woman killed was very active. Even though she was in her late 90s, they said she was still driving.

Investigators would only confirm that a woman has been detained for questioning.

“No outstanding suspects. The community is not at-risk at all,” Hallock said. “We do have an adult female detained and we believe, at this point, the incident was isolated to that residence.”

Crime is unusual for the area which resident June Schaw described as “very quiet, very friendly, everybody gets along very well.”
