Actor Arrested After Woman Claims She Awoke To Nearly Naked Intruder In Her Bed

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) —  Police have arrested Vietnamese actor Jonathan Phan after a Santa Ana woman claimed he broke into her home, removed his clothes and got into her bed as she slept.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, told KCAL9's Stacey Butler she awoke to a strange man in her bed wearing only his underwear last month, and screamed for help.

"I wake up at 8 in the morning, but he's still asleep. Then I yell," she said.

"I said, 'Who are you?' Then he [wakes] up [and says], 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry.'"

Santa Ana police say the woman's screams woke Phan and he jumped out through the window leaving behind his wallet, pants and cellphone. Patrol officers identified Phan by the California driver's license in his wallet.

Authorities did not make the arrest until Friday. It's unclear what caused the delay.

The homeowner said she's now afraid to sleep in her own bed, alleging construction nails had been placed on her carpet and the screen of her bedroom window had been cut.

Phan now faces a charge of residential burglary.
