Bicyclist Sustains 'Significant Injuries' In Riverside Hit-And-Run

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 27-year-old bicyclist suffered significant injuries in a hit-and-run accident in Riverside.

Officers and first responders responded to a report of the accident near the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Beechwood Place around 2 a.m. Sunday, Riverside police said in a department statement.

Upon arriving on scene, they transported the victim to Riverside Community Hospital.

Following the crash, the suspect vehicle allegedly failed to stop and was last seen continuing north on Magnolia Avenue, the statement said.

The vehicle was described by police as a late model, silver or beige, 4-door sport utility vehicle similar to a Ford Flex.

"The vehicle sustained significant damage to the front end and windshield," the statement added.
