SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Drivers heading to Las Vegas this weekend should be aware of the so-called “Cajon Crawl.”

The series of 55-hour weekend closures in the Cajon Pass began at 10 p.m. Friday, visibly impacting traffic.

The closure marked the first of five weekends of extended closures on the I-15 between Highway 138 and Oak Hill Road, Caltrans said.

During the closures, lanes will be reduced from four to two for approximately one mile. Lanes will reopen each Monday at 3 p.m.

The $120 million project is replacing concrete slabs that are beyond their life cycle starting at Kenwood Avenue and moving north. To learn more, click here.
