Jury Convicts Fourth Man In Marine Slaying

RIVERSIDE (AP) — A jury has found a fourth former Marine guilty in the killings of a Marine sergeant and his wife in their Southern California home.

The Riverside County district attorney's office says 27-year-old Kesaun Sykes was found guilty Tuesday of two counts of murder with special circumstances including murder during a robbery. A penalty phase will begin Monday.

Sykes' lawyer declined comment.

Sykes is one of four men charged in the 2008 murders of Sgt. Jan Pietrzak and Quiana Jenkins-Pietrzak. Two others were sentenced to death and one got life without parole.

Authorities say Pietrzak and his wife were each bound and shot in the head in their home near Murrieta. Prosecutors say Pietrzak was assaulted and his wife sexually assaulted before they were killed.
