Police Investigating After Covina Woman Says Attacker Groped Her On Walk With 1-Year-Old Son

COVINA (CBSLA.com) — A Covina woman is speaking out after she says she was attacked while on a walk with her 1-year-old son.

CBS2's Brittney Hopper reports the victim, who wished not to be identified, says she was walking in her neighborhood Sunday evening when a man violently grabbed, scratched and groped her.

She now says she's too frightened to go for walks near her home and hopes speaking out will prompt other women in the area to become more vigilant.

"I cried all night. I cried at work. I'm paranoid. I get scared if something's behind me. I feel ... I just have so much anxiety," she said. "I don't know how I'm going to be able to overcome this."

Covina police say two construction workers heard the victim screaming and the attacker ran off.

Police describe the man suspected in the attack as Hispanic, 18-22, wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

The victim says she hopes her story will help catch the person responsible.

"I'm really hoping they catch this person. Because I feel like this will happen again," she said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Covina police.
