Woman Arrested For Stealing Thousands Of Dollars' Worth Of Legos From Glendale Store

GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — A 29-year-old Winnetka woman was arrested and accused of stealing thousands of dollars' worth of Legos from a mall store, authorities said Wednesday.

Lanisa Williams was arrested on July 23 on felony burglary, grand theft and embezzlement charges.

William worked at the Legos Store in the Glendale Galleria and admitted to stealing 254 boxes of the popular toy in the past 18 months, police said.

She says she sold them to 30-year-old Kai Chan of Los Angeles, who then sold them on Craigslist and eBay.

Police searched his apartment on July 25 and found approximately 300 boxes of various types of Legos.

"Some of the boxes were individually priced at $400, and it was estimated that approximately $50,000 in merchandise was recovered from within the residence," Glendale police spokesperson Tahnee Lightfood said.

Chan was booked for receiving stolen property.

Both Williams and Chan were free on $20,000 bail.
