3 Charged In Torture Of Orange County Prostitute

SANTA ANA (AP) — Two men and one woman were charged with kidnapping and torturing a prostitute at a motel for nearly a week before she was able to message a friend on Facebook, the Orange County District Attorney's office said Wednesday.

Renice Stevenson Flores-Davis, 26; Oscar Gonzalez-Salinas, 33; and Sierra Rose Thompson, 26, were to be arraigned on charges of human trafficking, kidnapping and torturing the woman.

Flores-Davis hired the 26-year-old woman in May to perform commercial sex services, and he lived with the victim at a hotel in Westminster for several months, officials said.

On July 22, Flores-Davis became upset with the victim, leading him to burn her with a heated glass pipe used to ingest methamphetamine, tie her to a chair, blindfold her and duct-tape her mouth, police said.

Westminster officials said they received allegations that a woman was being held against her will for prostitution. Police said that when they got to the motel, the suspects and victim had already left the location.

The two then went to another motel in Costa Mesa, and Flores-Davis forced the victim to remain under the supervision of Gonzalez-Salinas and Thompson, officials said.

Flores-Davis and Gonzalez-Salinas burned the victim multiple times on her back with an electric clothing iron and poured water down her mouth and nose.

Flores-Davis threatened to kill the victim and her family if she told anyone about what was going on, Costa Mesa Police Department Lt. Paul Dondero said. They received a tip from someone from another state who knew the victim and said she had contacted the person on Facebook, he said. Dondero declined to say how the victim had been able to use Facebook, citing the ongoing investigation.

Police said they arrested the suspects on July 28 and found the victim with burns on her torso, a black eye and bruises on her body.

"This young lady was terrified when we found her," Dondero said.

The victim was treated for her injuries at a local hospital and transferred to a battered women's shelter.

If convicted, Flores-Davis faces a maximum sentence of 56 years to life in state prison, while Gonzalez-Salinas and Thompson each face a maximum sentence of 39 years to life in state prison, prosecutors said.
