NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A motorcyclist struck by a driver who then tried to flee the scene has died, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The motorcyclist was going south on Lankershim Boulevard when he was hit by the northbound driver, who was attempting to turn left onto Magnolia Boulevard, said LAPD Sgt. Jodie McGee.

The suspect, a man in his 30s, was arrested nearby, McGee said, and faces possible charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.
