Missing Fullerton Girl, 12, Found Safe At Relative’s Home

WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — A 12-year-old girl reported missing in Fullerton has been found safe at a relative’s home in Montebello.

“She’s safe and sound,” Whittier police Lt. Bryan Ellis said.

Police were notified of Catherine Tinnes’ whereabouts about 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Tinnes had apparently gotten into an argument with her parents when they said she wasn’t allowed to go on a trip to Santa Barbara with her grandfather, Ellis said.

The girl’s parents last spotted her in their backyard at 11:50 p.m. Friday.

The parents said they reported the incident because she’s never disappeared like this before.
