LAPD: Girl, 8, Abducted By Biological Mother

UPDATE (8:396 a.m.): Dezhane Norton was found in good health at 7 a.m. Wednesday. She is now in police custody.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday asked for the public's help in finding an 8-year-old girl who was abducted by her biological mother.

Dezhane Norton met with her mother, 42-year-old Kivon Norton, around 9 p.m. Tuesday outside a restaurant in the 1700 block of West Century Boulevard.

"Soon after their initial meeting, Kivon and Dezhane Norton were seen walking away from the location without the permission of Dezhane's legal guardians," police said.

Kivon Norton is described as a black woman, 5 feet 4 inches tall and 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a multi-colored scarf on her head, a blue shirt, blue jeans and a pink long-sleeved shirt around her waist.

Dezhane Norton, is described as black, 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 90 pounds. She was last seen wearing a brown shirt, blue shorts, pink shoes and Hello Kitty eyeglasses.
