Donovan, Gonzalez Selected To MLS All-Star Game To Play Bayern Munich

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Galaxy forward Landon Donovan and defender Omar Gonzalez were selected by fans to participate in the 2014 MLS All-Star game, the league announced Wednesday.

This will be Donovan's 14th straight All-Star selection and fourth for Gonzalez.

The All-Star team, voted on by fans, will play the Bundesliga's Bayern Munich on Aug. 6 in Portland, Ore.

The two Galaxy players were selected as part of the 11-player All-Star Fan IX.

The rest of the roster will be selected by Portland Timbers coach Caleb Porter.

Bayern Munich is one of the world's top soccer clubs.

Six of the eleven starters for Germany in the 2014 World Cup Final play for Bayern Munich.
