Police: Man Facing Possible False-Imprisonment Charge After Barricade
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man was in custody Wednesday after barricading himself in a downtown Los Angeles apartment alongside a woman, officials said.
The Los Angeles Police Department said Michael Templin, 23, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after a standoff that lasted more than seven hours.
Officials said around 6 a.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 700 block of West Seventh Street to serve an arrest warrant on Templin. Police said a noise on the fifth floor of the building prompted them to back off and call for SWAT officials.
Templin surrendered to officers, concluding the standoff with no reported injuries, police said. Authorities said the woman inside the apartment was later interviewed.
According to officials, Templin is facing a possible charge of false imprisonment and is being held in lieu of $120,000 bail.
