Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 8)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — There are only minor changes to the forecast Tuesday. Look for slightly cooler basin temperatures, however it will still be pretty warm for inland cities.

Valley temperatures will be in the 90s and desert communities will once again surpass the century mark.

Look for a general cooling trend for Wednesday and Thursday. In fact, on Thursday a stronger on-shore flow will bring us a thicker marine layer and there could be some of that cloud cover in the valley. The strong ridge of high pressure will retreat to the east and that will encourage the cool down.

It is short lived, as the high returns over the weekend. By Sunday, the high will strengthen and not only warm inland areas well above average, but it could open the door to monsoonal moisture again.

This will, at the very least, bring in some higher humidity.  But, more importantly there is the chance at a mountain or desert thunderstorm late into the weekend. It is worth pointing out that the beach hazard advisory concerning the dangerous and strong rip tides has been extended through the day Tuesday.
