O'Neill was Director of Marketing for Barbie, and her husband Josh Resnick was the co-founder and President of Pandemic Studios, a major video game developer.

On their third date, they dreamed of opening a luxury candy boutique while watching a screening of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory".
