Police: Missing Distraught Teen In Pacoima Reunited With His Family

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — Police said Sunday evening that a 17-year-old distraught over a medical condition and missing for more than a day, has been reunited with his family in Pacoima.

The 17-year-old boy hadn't been seen since he got in an argument with his family and reportedly stabbed himself in the hand on Saturday around 12:45 p.m.

Luis Alberto Ortiz had last been seen riding a bicycle north on the 9900 block of Bartee Avenue, near Gain Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The teen, who lives with his family on Gain Street, is undergoing a mental health evaluation, authorities said.
