MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — After celebrations in Downtown and at Dodger stadium, the Los Angeles Kings brought their victory party to a place that practically all of them call home: the South Bay.
Many fans said the smaller parade along the beach was a great chance to watch the hometown heroes up close.
“It’s unbelievable,” said Jarret Stoll. “People are on the beach, and now it’s a hockey town. The transformation that’s happened is unbelievable.”
The parade, which lasted a little over an hour, passed through Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach.
“This is amazing right now,” said Anze Kopitar. “To do this, down here in South Bay, to show the community we care here. It’s not always business all the time. For them to respond like they did, its unreal. Everyone is enjoying this.”
