Millionaire Businessman Pleads No Contest To Murder-For-Hire Plot Targeting Model Wife

SAN FERNANDO (CBSLA.com) — A Canyon Country businessman plead no contest Friday to a murder-for-hire plot with his wife as the intended target.

Dino Guglielmelli, 53, faces up to nine years in prison when he is sentenced June 18, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors say he was caught on tape offering a business associate $80,000 after his wife, model Monica Olsen, filed for divorce.

The two had been fighting over money and custody of their children.

The business associate contacted authorities when Guglielmelli first approached him and then recorded a follow-up conversation on Oct. 1, 2013.

According to the tape, the associate asked Guglielmelli if he was 100 percent sure he wanted his wife dead.

"One hundred percent? Why wouldn't I?" Guglielmelli replied.

Asked about how the couple's daughters would react to their mother's death, Guglielmelli said, "They're totally fine. All they need is their dad."

Guglielmelli ran a multi-million-dollar dietary supplement company.

Olsen, who ran a successful skin care line, wanted to relaunch her modeling career. Guglielmelli opposed the idea and was set off when she posed in racy lingerie during a photo shoot.

The couple married in 2004.
