Handcuffed Suspect Escapes From Anaheim Emergency Room

BUENA PARK (CBSLA.com) — A suspect who was arrested Wednesday on drug and theft charges escaped from an Anaheim emergency room while he was handcuffed.

Nazim Amett Polanco, 19, was taken into custody shortly before 10 a.m. by Buena Park police.

After complaining about an injury, he was taken to West Anaheim Medical Center.

While Polanco received medical treatment, he ran out of the emergency room and onto the street.

A perimeter was quickly set up, but he was never found.

The suspect, who police believe is armed, was described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds, with a shaved head. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and black pants.
