COLTON (CBSLA.com) — A male suspect was killed Tuesday morning in an officer-involved shooting at a San Bernardino County truck stop.

Police received a call at 7:44 a.m. for a man with a gun in the 2300 block of East Steel Road in Colton, authorities said.

When officers arrived, a brief struggle ensued between police and the suspect and an officer-involved shooting occurred.

The unidentified suspect was declared dead at the scene, officials said.

A police officer suffered minor injuries in the incident.

A gun was recovered from the scene.
