Hit-And-Run Driver Plows Dump Truck Into L.A. Liquor Store

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A driver reportedly fled after crashing his dump truck Sunday into a liquor store in the Florence area of Los Angeles.

The crash was reported at 12:51 a.m. at 68th Street and Compton Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver crashed into the building while the store was closed but the owner told a news photographer he was asleep in the back of the building due to recent break-ins.

A building inspector was expected to examine the building to determine whether it remains inhabitable, the CHP said.

The name of the dump truck company was listed as Garcia Bros. Hauling and Demolition, according to the photographer.
