WeHo Street Closures Announced For LA PRIDE Celebration

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Street closures were announced Thursday for this weekend's 44th annual LA PRIDE celebration.

Demi Lovato will serve as grand marshal of the event, which is expected to draw more than 400,000 spectators and marchers to West Hollywood.

The festival will take place at West Hollywood Park from 12 p.m. Saturday to 12 a.m. Sunday, as well as 11 a.m. Sunday to 11 p.m. Sunday.

A parade will also kick off at 11 a.m. Sunday on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Tickets to the event are free for active military members and children, $20 for general admission and $100 for VIP access.

The following street closures will be in place:

— San Vicente Blvd. will be closed between Santa Monica Blvd. and Melrose Ave from 7 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Monday

— Santa Monica Blvd. will be closed between Fairfax Ave and Doheny Drive from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday

— Streets one block north and south of Santa Monica Blvd. will be closed between Fairfax Ave and La Peer Drive from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday

— Crescent Heights Blvd. will be closed between Romaine Street and Fountain Ave from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday

West Hollywood city officials warn of heavy traffic throughout the weekend, as well as extremely limited parking.

Parking permits will not be enforced from 4 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday. Meters will also be free Sunday.

The following special event parking locations will be open:

Friday and Saturday:

— Kings Road Parking Structure, 8383 Santa Monica Blvd.

— Hancock Parking Structure, 901 Hancock Ave.

Sunday:

— Kings Road Parking Structure, 8383 Santa Monica Blvd.

— Hancock Parking Structure, 901 Hancock Ave.

— La Jolla/Havenhurst Lot, 1043 La Jolla Ave.

— La Peer Lot, 623 La Peer Drive

— Orange Grove Lot, 1114 N. Orange Grove Ave.

— Spaulding Lot, 7718 Santa Monica Blvd.

— Pacific Design Center, Melrose & San Vicente (Enter off of Melrose)

The Pride Ride, a free shuttle, will run through the weekend.

The following facilities will also be closed:

— West Hollywood Park will be closed through 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11

— West Hollywood Library will be closed from 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 to 11 a.m. on Monday, June 9

— West Hollywood Pool will be closed until Monday, June 16
