Suspicious Package That Shut Down Hollywood Boulevard Not Harmful

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — The LAPD has determined a suspicious package that forced the closure of Hollywood Boulevard Monday was not harmful.

KCAL9's Kevin Takumi reports Hollywood Boulevard was shut down in both directions between La Brea and Sycamore avenues due to police activity Monday afternoon.

A LAPD spokesperson said an unattended box suspicious in nature was found in the area.

Bomb squad officers were called to the scene and determined no harmful materials were in the package.

Hollywood Boulevard has since been re-opened to traffic.
