56-Year-Old Man With Autism Missing In Redondo Beach

REDONDO BEACH (CBSLA.com)   — Police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing 56-year-old man last seen in Redondo Beach.

Eric Ferguson, of Inglewood, also has autism.

Police say on Friday, about 1 p.m., Ferguson was with a supervised development group out of Hermosa Beach. The group was at the Redondo Beach Pier, visting the Fun Factory, when Ferguson left the group.

He was last seen near Torrance Boulevard.

Ferguson is black, 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a navy blue baseball cap, a dark green T-shirt, green shorts and black Nikes.

Authorities said Ferguson will respond to his name but is wary of physical contact. Officials also don't believe he will engage in conversation with people. When talking he can be repetitious, they said.

Ferguson has not walked away from a group previously or stayed away from home for any significant period of time. He lives with his mother in Inglewood.

Officials say Ferguson knows how to get around by bus but said he had no money or bus pass on him at the time of his disappearance.

If you have seen the missing man, you are asked to please call the Redondo Beach Police Department at (310) 379-2477.
