Shooting Rampage Reminiscent Of Student Who Went On Deadly Rampage In 2001 With His Car
SANTA BARBARA (CBSLA.com) — Friday evening’s deadly rampage on and around the UCSB campus was reminiscent of another rampage on that campus 13 years ago.
In 2001, then freshmen David Attias went on a rampage and killed four people with his Saab.
He reportedly hopped around the dead bodies calling himself “the angel of death.”
Attias was also the son of a Hollywood director. Daniel Attias has many TV directing credits including, “Northern Exposure,” “Melrose Place,” “Homeland,” “Resurrection,” “True Blood,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Lost.”
David Attias was found not guilty by reason of insanity and sent to a state mental hospital.
Officials said Attias was released from the mental facility two years ago.
