OC Man Allegedly Attacks Roommate With Machete

STANTON (CBSLA.com) — A man allegedly took a machete to his roommate Wednesday in Orange County. authorities reported.

Stanton resident Marco Reyes, 44, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, Orange County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

The incident allegedly occurred around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 7900 block of Hopi Road, in a home where the Reyes and the 49-year-old victim lived.

Police arrived at the residence to find the victim with cuts to his head and upper chest area. The suspect was found hiding in a shed out back.

The victim was hospitalized at UC Irvine Medical Center and is expected to survive his injuries, Hallock said.

Police say alcohol may have played a factor in the incident, but investigators still need to speak with the victim.
