MISSION VIEJO (CBSLA.com) — A 21-year-old man is being held on $1 million for the murder of an Orange County man.

Adam Ingala-Whiting, of Oceanside, was recently arrested in San Diego County for the murder of Francesco “Joey” Bonomolo, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said.

Bonomolo, 47, was found dead inside his Mission Viejo apartment on May 4.

“Based on preliminary information and evidence located at the scene, investigators believed a physical altercation may have occurred inside the apartment leading up to the Bonomolo’s death,” Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

His cause of death has not been released pending an ongoing investigation.

Ingala-Whiting is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Wednesday.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit at (714)647-7055.
