Police Release Picture Of Truck That Could Be Linked To Hit-And-Run That Killed Girl

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Police have released a picture of a truck they believe could be linked to a hit-and-run crash that killed a 2-year-old girl in San Bernardino.

The vehicle possibly connected to the death of Asianae Thomas, who was struck May 4 in the 2400 block of N. Mountain View, was discovered in an apartment complex in San Bernardino after officers received a tip.

Detectives are processing the truck for DNA and have interviewed several people associated with the vehicle.

Officers are also looking for dark-colored sedan that was trailing behind the truck in convenience store surveillance video. It is believed the passengers witnessed the collision.

Brittney Jones, the victim's family member, said she saw the sedan on the night Thomas was run over and actually spoke to two men inside.

After Jones asked them a few questions, the pair drove away before officers got to the scene.

"I remember it being, like I said, a Honda or a Toyota, a small sedan, probably about 1990s-make, somewhere around that," Jones said.
