Motel 6 Guest Accused Of Threatening Employees With A Knife

VENTURA (CBSLA.com)  —  The Ventura Police Department has arrested a probationer they said brandished a knife and threatened two employees at a Motel 6.

The police received a call about 2:45 p.m. Sunday saying that a guest of the facility located in the 2100 block of Harbor Boulevard was threatening a manager (a 42-year-old male) and a housekeeper (a 52-year-old female).

A third employee who reportedly witnessed the alleged altercation, hid in a room.

The manager and housekeeper had reportedly gone to the guest's room to check on a report of damage.

They said they attempted to speak to the suspect when he armed himself with a large folding knife and charged out of the room after them.

The manager and housekeeper said the man threatened to kill them. After they fled, they said the suspect returned to his room.

Officers at the scene identified the suspect as 37-year-old Ryan McArthur.

The suspect is reportedly on probation in Ventura County for brandishing a knife.

McArthur was taken into custody without further incident, authorities said.

He was booked into Ventura County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

Officials said no one was injured.
