Daughter Of Slain Porn Mogul Arrested For Allegedly Running ID-Theft Operation

TIBURON, Calif. (CBS/AP) — The daughter of a slain California porn mogul is in federal custody for allegedly running a large-scale identity-theft operation.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office says detectives arrested Jasmine Mitchell after a brief struggle outside a hotel in Tiburon Thursday evening. Detectives found counterfeit credit cards, cash, methamphetamine and papers in Mitchell's purse suggesting that she was preparing to flee the country.

Secret Service agents reportedly helped in arresting the 33-year-old.

Mitchell's father is Artie Mitchell, who was fatally shot by his brother Jim Mitchell in 1991.

The  Mitchell brothers produced and directed what was considered one of porn's first "classic" movies --  1972's "Behind the Green Door." They also co-owned a still popular San Francisco strip club.

Jim Mitchell's son, also named James, was found guilty in 2011 of murdering his ex-girlfriend with a baseball bat in 2009. His father died of an apparent heart attack in 2007.

Jasmine Mitchell also faces possible charges of ramming her Mercedes into an unmarked sheriff's patrol car when investigators tried to arrest her outside a San Pablo apartment complex on April 29.

The story of the Mitchell brothers was depicted in the 2000 TV film "Rated X" starring real-life siblings Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez.
