2 LAPD Officers, 1 Civilian Hurt In 3-Vehicle Crash In Westwood

WESTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say two Los Angeles police officers have been transported to area hospitals following a three-car crash in Westwood.

Stu Mundel, reporting in Sky9, said a civilian was also injured.

The collision involving two civilian vehicles and a squad car was reported Friday evening about 6:45 p.m. on Wilshire Boulevard near Selby Avenue.

Although the condition of the officers was not known, they were said to be complaining of pain.

There is no word on the civilian's condition.

Mundel reported that LA City Fire responded to the crash scene and had to cut the door off the police cruiser to extricate the officer in the passenger seat.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is underway, Mundel reported.

Traffic on Wilshire was shut down between Manning Street and Malcolm Avenue.
