Toddler Declared Brain Dead After Being Struck In San Bernardino Hit-And-Run

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A 2-year-old girl was declared brain dead Thursday from injuries sustained during a hit-and-run in San Bernardino over the weekend, the Coroner's office confirmed.

Asianae Thomas was playing outside a relative's home when she was hit around 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of N. Mountain View Avenue in San Bernardino.

The suspect fled the scene following the collision.

Thomas was transported to Saint Bernardine Medical Center and later transferred to the Loma Linda University Medical Center where she was put on life support.

Detectives released a photo of what is believed to be the suspect's vehicle. The picture of the dark-colored, flatbed truck was taken off a security camera at a local convenience store just south of the scene of the crime.
