Officer Hurt After Woman Hurls Rock Through Pasadena Police Station Window

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A 45-year-old woman reportedly walked up to the Pasadena Police Department Thursday and hurled a rock through a window, cutting a sergeant's face with broken glass.

Jennifer Vielia, of Pasadena, was arrested but refused to say what prompted the attack, according to Lt. Jason Clawson.

The incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. when the suspect walked up to police headquarters at 207 North Garfield Avenue, Clawson said.

A sergeant on the ground-level looked outside his office and saw a woman roughly five feet away pick up a rock and fling it at his window.

Broken glass caused a small laceration to the sergeant's face, but he was still able to run outside and arrest Vielia.

She was booked on suspicion of assault on a peace officer, Clawson said.

Vielia was being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood on $50,000 bail, according to online jail records.
