STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Holy guacamole!

La Sandia Chef Julio Camberos stopped by KCAL9 Monday to talk about the “Guacamole Fest” menu.

The festival will run May 1—June 15 and feature a variety of guacamole recipes representing different regions of Mexico.

Here is one recipe Camberos shared:

Guacamole Sur


1 ½ each avocado

3 TSP Tomatillo, diced

3 TSP Yellow Onion, diced

2 lime wedges

½ TSP Sea Salt

1 TBSP Cilantro

½ TSP Cotija Cheese

1 TSP Toasted and Blended Cascabel Chile Powder


In a bowl, add the avocado, tomatillos, onion, lime juice, salt, and cilantro. Top with the grasshoppers and cotija cheese.
