Family Of Missing Man Will Celebrate His 20th Birthday Wednesday

CASTAIC (CBSLA.com)  — The family of a man missing nearly nine months will celebrate his birthday on Wednesday as they continue to hope that he will be found safe.

Bryce Laspisa has been missing since 2 a.m. on August 30, 2013.

His mom Karen writes, "Wednesday will be Bryce's 20th birthday. A difficult day for [his father] Mike and I."

Laspisa was last seen near Castaic. His Toyota Highlander was found, overturned, at Castaic Lake near the main boat launch access road.

His mom said she and her husband will drive to the location on Wednesday, in part to celebrate their son but to also keep his story in the spotlight.

She said, they planned to honor him "with a sugar rush of Mountain Dew and sugar cookies."

The family is asking everyone to join in their celebration or "run to the corner store, grab some Moutain Dew and cookies and take a photo of you and your family enjoy some of Bryce's favorite things. Send your photos to us at LightingTheirWayHome@hotmail.ca and we will post them for all to see!"

Thanking friends and family on the Laspisa Facebook page "Find Bryce Laspisa," Karen thanked everyone for their "continued love and support." The page has more than 14,800 likes.

She added, "We will never give up hope that Bryce will one day be reunited with us."

If you have seen Bryce Laspisa or know anything about his whereabouts, you're asked to call (949) 292-4400 or email FindBryceLaspisa@gmail.com.
