2 Injured In Catalina Boating Accident

TWO HARBORS (CBSLA.com) — At least two people suffered minor injuries when their sailboat ran aground Saturday at Catalina Island.

A Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson told City News Service a distress call was sent out at 4:50 a.m.

First responders found the vessel had run into rocks off Isthmus Cove near the settlement of Two Harbors, located about 27 miles south of Long Beach.

A third person on board had escaped injury and left the boat seeking help. It was unclear if that person had suffered any injuries.

The scene was cleared at 6:30 a.m.

The identity of those involved in the incident had not been released at press time.
