Hemet Man Shot, Killed Inside Car In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A 51-year-old man from Hemet was found fatally shot inside a vehicle in San Bernardino, authorities said Saturday.

San Bernardino police said in a written statement that officers had responded to a call of a shooting victim and located the man, described as a black male, in the driver's seat.

The discovery was made Friday evening about 7:54 p.m. in the 3100 block of N. Cajon Boulevard.

The statement says the man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was identified as James Lee Dempsey.

A motive for the shooting remains unknown.
