Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives say they discovered the body of 34-year-old Kurtland Ma at a residence in the 900 block of Palm Avenue at 4:56 p.m. Saturday while doing a welfare check.

Deputies found suspect Andre Damiane Davids, 36, in a bathroom. Davids was taken into custody and was being held in lieu of $1 million bail at press time.

The investigation is ongoing.
