Boy In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Truck In OC Crosswalk
SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 10-year-old boy was hospitalized Monday with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a truck in an Orange County crosswalk.
The accident happened around 6:45 p.m. Sunday when the boy and his older brother were in the crosswalk at Seventeenth Street and Cabrillo Park Drive in Santa Ana.
According to police, 33-year-old Suray Leon failed to stop at a light and hit the child with her truck.
The boy was thrown several feet in the air and transported to Western Medical Center in critical condition.
Leon, of Santa Ana, was arrested for felony driving under the influence, officials said.
