Man Booked In Connection With Stabbing Death Of Roommate

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man has been booked in connection with the fatal stabbing of his roommate.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a written statement that deputies responded to an apartment in the 900 block of Palm Avenue for a welfare check.

Upon arriving on scene, they located the victim on the kitchen floor with apparent stab wounds.

The victim, described as an Asian man, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The discovery was made about 4:56 p.m. Saturday.

The statement says deputies also detained the suspect they described as an African-American man. The statement also said the suspect was found hiding in the bathroom.

The suspect, they allege, appeared to have taken a large amount of pills. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment, the statement said.

"Preliminary information indicated that the suspect and the victim were in an intimate relationship and were living together," the statement said.

Anyone with information about this case was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
