CHINO HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A man was fatally shot by deputies Friday morning after he was involved in a stabbing, carjacking and a possible residential break-in in San Bernardino County.
Deputies were originally called out around 5:30 a.m. to the 3900 block of Hickory Lane in Chino Hills on a report of a stabbing.
The unidentified suspect fled the scene on foot and carjacked a van, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
After abandoning the van, the suspect entered a home in the 5400 block of Brushwood Court.
A woman then called 911 stating that someone was in the residence and that her husband was confronting the suspect.
When deputies arrived on scene, the suspect charged at them with a gun and knife in hand and shots were fired, authorities said.
He died at the scene.
The stabbing victim was last listed in stable condition, but his relationship to the suspect were unknown.
